Joy In The Journey

Some days are all to stressful. We (meaning I) live life sometimes with the idea of "I will do it tomorrow." I find myself saying that to my children and I have decided that one day tomorrow will too, be gone. As I was preparing a lesson for Sunday, I came across this wonderful Conference talk by President Monson, "Finding Joy in the Journey." If you have not read it, please do!

He stated:
"If you have children who are grown and gone, in all likelihood you have occasionally felt pangs of loss and the recognition that you didn't appreciate that time of life as much as you should have. Of course, there is no going back, but only forward. Rather than dwelling opon the past, we should make the most of today, of the here and now, doing all we can to provide pleasant memories for the future.

If you are still in the process of raising children be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will--to your suprise--miss them profoundly.

Send that note to the friend you've been neglecting; give your child a hug; give your parents a hug; say "I Love You" more; always express your thanks. Never let a problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. Friends move away, children grow up, loved ones pass on. It's so easy to take others for granted, until that day when they're gone from our lives and we are left with feeling of "what if" and "if only." "

Take time to reflect in your life how you feel and how you are doing.... I know there are things I need to improve on in mine. I have found my children to be much happier when instead of saying "we will do that tomorrow," doing it today! Such is life, time passes all to quickly and don't be the one years from now wishing you had done something yesterday.

Just want you all to know we love you!

Ha Ha Moment

I'm in the kitchen baking. The recipe called for flour. I get the Flour out of the cupboard...open the lid and to my shocking suprise, Ella had hidden a fake beetle in the flour jar! AHHHHHH! She got me this time!
