How do you mend a broken Jack-O-Lantern?
(with a pumpkin patch!)

History of the Jack-O-Lantern
The Halloween night, glowing jack-o-lanterns, carved from turnips or gourds, were set on porches and in windows to welcome deceased loved ones, but also to act as protection against malevolent spirits. Burning lumps of coal were used inside as a source of light, later to be replaced by candles.
We now carve pumpkins as a festivity of fun....

The origin of pumpkin pie occurred when the colonists sliced off the pumpkin top, removed the seeds, and filled the insides with milk, spices and honey. The pumpkin was then baked in hot ashes.
Pumpkin Pie is my ultimate favorite!! I have a delicious receipe from my Aunt...that post to come in November...for Thanksgiving...
